Jakarta (medialnews) — After an emotional “comeback” in MotoGP in Portugal, Marc Marquez is continuing his injury recovery to face the test at the Spanish Grand Prix at the Jerez-Angel Nieto Circuit this weekend.
While his physical condition isn’t 100% fit, Marquez hasn’t lost his pace, claiming P7 in Portugal after missing most of the 2020 season due to a right leg injury.
In Portimao, the Repsol Honda team champion showed his aggressive riding style on the RC213V and even pushed forward to fight for leadership in the early laps.

With his humerus no longer an issue in his first race of the season, Marquez continued training at the gym to prepare for the physically demanding race in Jerez, where he was injured last year.
“Now we are back racing, after a productive week we are back on track,” Marquez said on the team’s official website on Tuesday.
“I am continuing my recovery program to make sure my physical condition improves and on the advice of the doctor I have not ridden a motorcycle since Portugal.
“So of course I’m very excited to be back on the bike.
“We are approaching Jerez in the same way as Portimao, we are here to keep improving step by step and doing our best.
“My recovery is continuing, and most importantly, we are improving consistency.”
Marquez has always been on the podium every time he finished in the premier class in the Spanish Grand Prix, including three wins.
The top three races held this season were wiped out by Yamaha riders.
Monster Energy Yamaha racer Fabio Quartararo temporarily topped the list with 61 points, followed by Ducati team rider Francesco Bagnaia who eclipsed second place with a distance of 15 points, and Maverick Vinales who was 20 points behind.
